Get Your Detox On—The Easy Way

January 17, 2013

3…2…1…Happy New Year!

And now that that’s over with, let’s get down to business: January, as we all know—and fear—is resolution time. During these next few weeks, we’ll make all sorts of promises to ourselves and our loved ones, and then, with perseverance, sheer force of will and maybe even a little bit of luck, we won’t break those promises until…well…maybe Mardi Gras?

Because here’s the thing: Keeping resolutions is hard. And usually no fun. Especially when we live lives as fabulous as we all do. (And, let’s face it, our lives are pretty freaking fabulous.) But there are some simple, easy and, yes, enjoyable ways you can make yourself a better you in 2013. And we’re here to help you find them.

First on our list: Get the toxins our. Yes, you can do this by juice cleansing, or quitting all sorts of bad (but fun) habits and never returning to them. Maybe you’ll look and feel better as a result. But you might also end up being pretty boring. And we can’t have that.

So, may we suggest something else? Namely: One of the carefully calibrated, specifically designed and thoroughly enjoyable detoxifying treatments at The Cove Atlantis’s Mandara Spa. Each one of these babies gets the bad stuff out with a combination of natural, detoxifying ingredients and expert application by our resident therapists. There are two Elemis Aroma Spa Seaweed Massages to choose from, both of which use a detoxifying combination of lavender, sage and green clay to help you get clean: The Cellutox Ocean Float/Wrap also incorporates a blend of juniper and lemon essential oils plus aquatic extracts of sea fennel and sea buckthorn to decongest and stimulate the body’s systems and—best of all—reduce the appearance of cellulite. The other version of the massage, the Musclease Ocean Float/Wrap, meanwhile, mixes pine and rosemary essential oils, which are proven to relax muscles and reduce those pesky post-New Year’s Eve partying aches and pains. And if massage isn’t really your thing, you can always go for a wrap instead, specially the Elemis Body Sculpting Cellulite and Colon Therapy peel-off body mask. Using essential oils of birch and fennel, it reduces fluid retention and boosts circulation.

And you barely have to lift a finger to make it all happen. Other than the finger-flicks it takes to dial the phone to book your treatment from your oceanfront room at The Cove, that is…
