Bathing Beauties

Let’s be honest: We all want to be beach goddesses and designers from Australia, New Zealand and (no surprise) Brazil, win the crown when it comes to understanding the art of sun-kissed seduction. They know how to (barely) dress a woman’s curves and (yes, we’ll say it) what skin should not be covered.

This season, the sexiest Brazilian and Aussie suits go one step bolder – they are all about fun. The colors pop – canary yellow, turquoise, fuchsia – and embellishments like mirror, gems, beading, even feathers turn any suit into a party. In fact, when it comes to bells and whistles, the more the merrier. You know that plain black bikini you’ve worn for the last few years? Toss it, and join the bedazzled bathing suit bash. Heads. Will. Turn.

Revved up, asymmetric one-pieces are the other big news. One-shoulder numbers rule the roost, as do geometric monokinis with strategic cut-outs, and metallics in a range of shades is the look of the season. The look is futuristic, sleek, a little decadent and haute chic. Your pool boy will fall in love with you.

Bottom line: if you find a suit that a ‘70’s zing to it – just a touch of Paco Rabanne – BUY it. And never fear, as always, Escape at The Cove has hard to find imports and one-of-a-kind offerings. So this season, be bold, be bare…be bodacious. You’ll have good stories to tell.
